Honestly if you would have searched google once you would have found out Beta Max lost because sony wouldn't open the patten for other companies to make Beta Max players. This made them more expensive and drove that hole supply and demand thing through the roof. Supply was low for Beta Max, but supply was high for VHS and this made the companies making VHS COMPETE. Competition drives the price down. As far as the porn industry there were porn companies making exclusively in HDDVD. Porns are just like movies they are made by different company, there isn't one inclusive PORNS R US. Sony just learned from there mistake, they came out with an equal product, let other companies make it and for the price is cheaper. That's the golden secret.
